The gravity powered filter is quite simple, it uses one* to two reservoir to filter water.
*only for the two liter option
the “dirty” reservoir is over the “clean” reservoir using gravity to pulls down the water thru the filter instead of pumping the water thru the filter which saves time and energy.
The filter system also comes with a few adapters for water bottles like a narrow mouth water bottle which can be connected to a larger universal wide mouth water bottle lid that you can strew onto your bottle (I tested it out on a wide mouth nalgene, hydro flask, thermaflask and they all work)
Testing it out
Any gravity powered filter is a ton better that the original pump water filter. Its more easy, faster and less energy consuming because you can pull the dirty reservoir up start filtering the water and set up your tent then when you’re done you can get the clean water and use it for whatever you wanted for.
We brought a two liter reservoir which only comes with the dirty reservoir, I used this pump for two backpacking trips in the high sierras. Both time to was awesome and very convenient but even more convenient if you have a bigger reservoir and a dirty and clean one.
